RM Rail Abakanvagonmash launched a service for current uncoupling repair of freight cars

RM Rail Abakanvagonmash (part of RM Rail, a leading freight rolling stock manufacturer in Russia) has implemented the first part of the project for arranging current uncoupling repair of TR-1 and TR-2 freight cars. In March, the enterprise was certified by the Federal Agency for Railway Transport for the right to perform uncoupling repairs with the conditional branding number 4506. A new railcar repair technology, as well as production of containers and block modules were brought to the attention of Valentin Konovalov, Head of the Republic of Khakassia.

Design capacity of the railcar repair falicity, including current uncoupling repair, roundhouse servicing and complete overhauling is 10 thousand units plus 5 thousand OANW (old axle - new wheel) wheelsets. RM Rail Abakanvagonmash plans to reach these volumes by 2024. The company’s investments in the capital project will amount to 450 million roubles.

The production upgrade will include purchase of equipment to provide standard technical maintenance of rail cars and wheelsets. Personnel recruitment is open. As this line of business develops, it is planned to employ up to 300 people.

The visitors had a plant tour, they examined a new paint spray booth, automatic roll forming lines. Improvements in compensation and welfare facilities were noted. This year, RM Rail enterprises increased employees’ pay rates, a new canteen, a health center, and a laundry began to work.
