The Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov had a business meeting with the General Director of RM Rail Pavel Ovchinnikov. The first-half results, plans to modernize production and the company's participation in the international industry exhibition were discussed.
Pavel Ovchinnikov told the Head of the region that RM Rail presented the latest rolling stock models at the international railway exhibition “PRO // Dvizhenie.Expo”, held in late August in Moscow.
The exposition included an 80-foot flat car for transporting large containers. The car is certified in accordance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union. Serial production of the model started in August. Specially for the manufacture of this kind of rolling stock, equipment was modernized at Ruzkhimmash. The project allowed the creation of about 150 modern jobs.
The second development is a box car of increased load capacity, which by its technical and economic indicators outperformed all existing counterparts in Russia. Currently, the model is in testing, and would enter the serial production in 2020. Production will be carried out at the Saransk site of Ruzkhimmash. It is expected that over 270 employees will be involved in the release of new products.
Now the company employs 6.5 thousand people, by the end of the year the staff will increase to 6825 people. The Head of the Republic drew attention to the fact that there are no delays in the payment of wages at RM Rail: “This positive moment needs to be consolidated, as well as the serious program to modernize existing workshops that is being conducted at the plant shall be continued.”
The meeting was attended by Vladimir Sushkov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mordovia.
