RM Rail to supply 500 mineral hoppers to Acron Company
The first 100 hoppers were shipped at the end of last year, and, this year, the customer purchased another 400 wagons
The first 100 wagons under the contract with Acron, Russia's leading mineral fertilizer producer, were shipped at the end of last year and have already arrived at the Veliky Novgorod site; this year the customer intends to purchase another 400 hoppers.
Hopper model 19-1274 has improved technical characteristics: body volume of 107 cubic meters, payload of up to 71 tons, service life of 26 years of operation, internal protective coating of the body, resistant to aggressive environment, and 78 items of transported goods. This mineral carrier has no analogues in Russia.
Acron notes that it plans to significantly expand its rail fleet for urea and ammonium nitrate transportation. Taking into account the purchased lot, the total number of wagons in the company's ownership will exceed 2,200.
"Upgrading rolling stock is part of our systematic efforts to improve transportation safety and reduce the cost of ongoing maintenance of the wagon fleet," said Valery Ponamarev, head of Acron's transportation department. "In this way, we can freely plan to ship increased volumes of products, freely replace older models with more economical ones."
RM Rail and Acron have a long-standing fruitful cooperation, within the framework of which a number of projects for the development and supply of freight rolling stock have been successfully implemented," emphasized Aleksandr Kulikov, Deputy CEO for Sales at RM Rail.
