RM Rail Refrigerator Car Recognized as Best Innovative Product
The company wins competition organized by the UIRE association
RM Rail has won the competition for the best innovative projects organized by the Union of Industries of Railway Equipment (UIRE) association. In the category Best Innovative Project: Railcars and Track Vehicles, first place was awarded to the autonomous refrigerated rail car model 16-1247.
The innovative projects competition is held by the association once every two years. The contest committee is chaired by Valentin Gapanovich, President of UIRE, and includes leading experts in the fields of railway science, technology, and innovation. Applications are evaluated based on several criteria, including the relevance and novelty of the product and the uniqueness of its technical solutions. The results were announced on September 24 in Moscow.
Of the seven models nominated in the category for track equipment and rolling stock, the autonomous refrigerated rail car model 16-1247 received the highest score.
The rail car, equipped with a 25 TF axle load bogie, is designed for the transportation of both perishable and nonperishable goods requiring protection from weather conditions and temperature control in the cargo compartment ranging from –20°C to +15°C. The rail car’s load capacity is 60 tons, at least 4 tons higher than comparable models currently on the market. The body capacity is 132 m³ and the floor space is 47 m². The undercarriage uses RM Rail’s innovative 25 TF axle load bogie, offering a service life of 25 years and a guaranteed period before complete overhaul of 16 years.
In addition to winning the main nomination for rolling stock manufacturers, RM Rail received another distinction: Denis Shubarov, CEO of RM Rail RVS, was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade. Awards were presented by Valentin Gapanovich, President of UIRE. In turn, the RM Rail delegation presented the association with a scale model of the refrigerated rail car model 16-1247.

The volume of rail transportation requiring temperature control is steadily increasing. We have offered our own solution—the RM Rail refrigerator car, which is truly innovative, efficient, and reliable. The model attracted significant interest at the international railway forum PRO//Motion.Expo in St. Petersburg.
