RM Rail company has certified an innovative tank for oil products

RM Rail has received the conformity certificate (National Register of Certification System for Federal Railway Transport) for the tank-wagon to transport oil products of model 15-3209 on a wagon bogie with an axial load equal to 25 tf.

The model load capacity is 74.5 tons, (+1.2 tons in comparison with similar models). Tank car volume is 89.4 m³ (+1.4 m³ in comparison with equivalents). The container wagon mass is reduced to 25.5 tons. The truck is an innovative bogie with 25 tf load of in-house model 18–9891. The wagon service life is 32 years.

Model 15-3209 has become the best one among 4-axle tank-wagons in terms of key technical and operational specifications The combination of payload capacity and tank car volume is the most optimized value available in Russian and CIS markets.

The new tank-wagon has a number of advantages for transportation of cargoes with different densities. In case of light cargoes with a density of up to 0.8 t/m³, the increased tank car volume allows additional transportation of 1.4–3.7 tons; maximum available density up to 1.04 t/m³ enables transporting a wider range of light and dark oil products that require no preheating. Maximum efficiency is achieved when transporting cargoes with a density from 0.83 t/m³ (78 % of the total volume of oil products transportation). The advantage is ensured by the increased load capacity: it makes it possible to transport additional 1.2–8.5 tons.

Another advantage of the model is its net line load value. Compared to existing wagons on a 25-ton bogie, model 15-3209 can carry more cargo by train both in terms of volume and load capacity.

Model 15-3209 was presented to the public at 1520 PRO//MOTION.EXPO of International Railway Salon in Saint Petersburg, where it was highly evaluated by experts and potential customers.
