RM Rail Co-Organized a Regional Conference on Industrial Safety

RM Rail, a leading manufacturer of freight rolling stock in Russia, acted as the main partner of a regional industrial safety conference. The event took place ahead of World Day for Safety and Health at Work at the Mordovia Technopark and was organized by the Ministry of Social Protection, Labour and Employment of the Republic of Mordovia.

 In 2025, RM Rail’s initiative to establish a unified platform for sharing best practices in occupational health and safety received support from public authorities, and starting this year the conference has been upgraded to a regional-level event.

The event brought together more than 160 employers and around 200 participants. Among them were representatives of leading regional enterprises, including Mordovcement, Saransk Mechanical Plant, RezinoTekhnika, Gazprom Gas Distribution Saransk, Saransk Cable-Optic, and others. Speakers included specialists from regional offices of the Ministry of Social Protection, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Labor Inspectorate, the Social and Pension Fund, and other organizations.

Participants of the conference noted that, under the current conditions, particular attention must be paid to improving working conditions and ensuring the preservation of employees' life and health. The focus was placed on measures to reduce occupational risks and foster a workplace culture of prevention, as well as on addressing occupational injuries through an interagency analytical approach and organizing training with limited resources.

The conference also covered step-by-step approaches to developing occupational health and safety management systems, included a review of practical case studies, and identified tools designed to both reduce the risk of occupational diseases and mitigate the severity of health impacts caused by exposure to harmful workplace factors.

 The session resulted in the formulation of several key initiatives:

– Establishment of an Industrial Safety Committee within the Regional Association of Employers, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Mordovia

– Participation of the Industrial Safety Committee in the meeting of the Strategic Development Council at N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University

– Development of a state platform for personnel training in industrial safety

– Granting the regional industrial safety conference the status of a satellite event of the All-Russian Occupational Safety Week
