RM Rail Certifies Tank Car for Liquid Pitch Transportation
No counterparts to rolling stock for liquid coal-tar pitch transportation are produced in Russia
RM Rail has obtained a Certificate of Conformity for the tank car model 15-1257-01 for liquid coal-tar pitch transportation on an innovative bogie with increased load capacity.
The model's load capacity is 69.5 tons, tank barrel volume is 63.1 m³, service life is 24 years, guaranteed service life before first overhaul is 12 years. The tank barrel is insulated with non-combustible mats covered with a waterproof shell. Seamless insulation prevents heat loss during cargo transportation. The car is equipped with electrical equipment for heating the pitch, with the ability to connect to the power grid from both sides. The tank car's running gear is a bogie with 25 tf axle load of in-house design.
The new product is based on model 15-1257, which has been manufactured by the company for over seven years and maintains stable market demand. No counterparts to rolling stock for liquid coal-tar pitch transportation are produced in Russia.
First Deputy General Director of RM Rail Sergey Drobzhev explained,
"RM Rail has extensive experience in manufacturing specialized rail cars for any cargo. The pitch carrier is not an easy model to make due to the specifics of the transported cargo: liquid coal-tar pitch is characterized by high density and high solidification temperature. Our rail car takes all these nuances into account to ensure safe transportation and efficient car operation during loading and unloading."
