RM Rail Abakanvagonmash Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary

RM Rail is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of one of its key assets – RM Rail Abakanvagonmash, Russia's largest manufacturer of general-purpose and specialized containers. The celebratory event took place today in one of the company's production workshops, bringing together several generations of leaders, current employees, young professionals, and veterans. The plant received anniversary congratulations from Alexey Lemin, Mayor of Abakan; Alexander Shtygashev, a United Russia candidate for the State Duma of the Russian Federation; and other guests.
 
The company's main competitive advantage is the production of customized, exclusive models created in partnership with customers. Such products account for around 40% of the company's product portfolio. In the last two years alone, 10 comprehensive projects have been completed. In terms of technical specifications and reliability, the specialized containers manufactured by RM Rail Abakanvagonmash outperform their global counterparts. These include open-top containers for coal, fertilizers, and coiled steel, as well as other models.

Key areas of business diversification include railcar repair and the production of next-generation cargo rolling stock. To this end, a technology transfer with RM Rail Ruzkhimmash was carried out. Starting in 2026, the company began mass production of innovative dump cars. This is a unique product not only for Khakassia but also for the entire domestic market. It won the regional 100 Best Products of 2026 professional quality competition in the Products of industrial and Technical Designation category.
 
The RM Rail Abakanvagonmash team consists of more than 600 people. The average salary is about RUB 90,000. The company fully meets its commitments to providing social support for employees, including free hot meals, reimbursement for health resort treatment, summer camp stays for employees' children, back-to-school payments, and more.
