RM Rail certifies a rail tank car for transportation of chemical cargoes

RM Rail, a leading manufacturer of freight rolling stock in Russia, has certified rail tank car model 15-1286 for transportation of chemical cargoes to compliance with the Custom Union Technical Regulation requirements.

RM Rail has expanded its model range with a new rail car, which has passed a procedure of launching into manufacture and certification by the Register of Certification on the Federal Railway Transport. The car is designed for transportation of more than 100 types of cargoes, including light and dark oil products, aromatic hydrocarbons and other chemical goods.

The tank car has 88.1 cubic meter volume and 73 tons load capacity, which is the maximum value for this type of rolling stock. Based on the positive results of life tests and relevant surveys, which were carried out with the involvement of NVC Vagon, the assigned lifetime of the tank car, versus its counterparts, was increased from 24 to 32 years.

The tank car barrel is equipped with a steam heating jacket. The drain device has three layers of protection, and the safety valve is equipped with a membrane assembly. Axle load of the car is 25 tf.
