Pavel Ovchinnikov, RM Rail General Director discussed expansion of export supplies with the leadership of Mordovia

The Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov has held a working meeting with RM Rail General Director Pavel Ovchinnikov. They discussed 2017-th year performance results, plans to implement new projects and expansion of the company's export deliveries.

The Company’s Chief Executive informed Head of the Republic that the year 2017 in every way appeared to be dynamic for RM Rail. Compared with 2016 when the company just started reeling from sector crisis, production of rail cars increased nearly twice as much – up to 4,2 thousand rolling stock units. Key rail car projects are production and sale of tank cars for molten sulfur, cement hopper cars and flat cars of various modifications.

Target indicator for 2018 is 5,5 thousand rail cars. Development of three new models is launched for domestic market and two for export. The social program was reviewed – in 2017 location employed about 600 men, and recruitment for blue-color jobs is going on, no salary arrears.

VKM-Steel ramp up their production. Metallurgists achieved twofold increase of large car castings production – 6 thousand car sets in 2017. In 2018 they plan to manufacture 7,1 thousand car sets of castings. In addition, the company prepares for production of innovative castings.

Head of the Republic stressed the importance of the export program and noted the need for further work on cooperation with foreign partners.

"We must work hard to constantly increase the export of our products. We need to do everything to increase number of enterprises that can work in the global market. This is one of our main tasks” – Vladimir Volkov said.

According to Pavel Ovchinnikov, in 2018 the company will continue to supply products to Kazakhstan, Cuba and a number of other countries.

The Head of Mordovia also underscored the importance of preserving the personnel, timely wage payment and wage growth at the holding's plants.
