Cuba’s Ambassador took part in shipping of the last RM Rail export railcars lot

Cuba’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Russia Emilio Lozada García visited company RM Rail, which completed production of railcars within export contract with Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador to Russia Emilio Lozada García personally assessed the last lot of railcars, which had been manufactured by RM Rail Ruzchimmash within export contract with Cuba.

The agreement included designing of three models as well as manufacture and delivery to the island of 365 rolling stock railcars. Russian export-import bank, transport-logistic company Modul, leasing company TransFin-M came into the project.

Meeting with Vladimir Volkov, Head of Mordovia, took place within the visit, RM Rail was represented by Pavel Ovchinnikov, General Director. The representatives of the hosting party thanked the guest for the interest in the Region and expressed hope for strengthening bilateral relations. Cuban Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Russia in his turn noted that he as well as the customers is glad with the results of cooperation with Mordovia's railcar builder. At present conclusion of another contract with RM Rail is being considered.

- We see that prospects of our cooperation are very wide and we will make all efforts that relations – trade-economic, cultural and friendly will develop. I am sure that today's meeting will become the beginning of big and mutually beneficial partnership.

Pavel Ovchinnikov, General Director of RM Rail:

- The Project has turned out to be complex from point of view of not only engineering and production but logistics as well. We are grateful very much to our partners, which helped us to fulfill our contractual obligations, for the consolidated joint work, and I am sure it opens a new page in history of Cuban-Russian relations in sphere of railroad business.
