Vladimir Volkov: “RM Rail has made a "breakthrough" this year.”

The Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov has held a working meeting with RM Rail General Director Pavel Ovchinnikov. They discussed current year performance results, plans to implement new projects, take part in import substitution programs and expand export of the company products.

- This year Ruzchimmash production volumes will be 2,5 times higher versus last year, - the Company Manager informed the Head of the Republic - Production of rail cars will amount to  2.5 thousand units, output of large car castings will make 3,200 sets.

In 2016 RM Rail has made a real "breakthrough" with substantial sponsorship from the federal and regional budgets, major capital infusions by the holding owners. The enterprise managed to get a contract for engineering development of three rail car models, as well as for production and delivery of 363 rolling stock units to Cuba. This order happened to be very important for the railcar manufacturing holding - it provided capacity utilization and largely helped the business to get out of sustained downturn, save the company team and form a solid export portfolio.

The meeting included discussion of new project implementation plans. Vladimir Volkov highlighted the necessity to pursue involvement in import substitution programs, cooperation with major government-owned corporations and foreign partners to build the appropriate order portfolio and ensure ultimate sustainability for the holding business.
