RM Rail has completed manufacturing of rail cars for Cuba

RM Rail has shipped to Cuba the final lot of 363 rail cars made to order of one of the major rolling stock users in the Republic. All contract obligations were fulfilled by the manufacturer on time and in full.

RM Rail has supplied to the Cuban customer 363 rolling stock units, including 163 sugar hopper cars, 100 60ft flat cars and 100 box cars.

The rail car models are developed in accordance with technical specifications of Caribbean countries. On customer request, the sugar hopper cars (model 19-1260) are equipped with sliding gate unloading mechanism that provides metered discharge of material from the car body. In addition, a one-piece roof opening, unlike designs with separate hatches, precludes unnecessary freight train movements. The hopper car sheathing is made of 15ХСНД steel that protects the metal from tropical climate exposures. In compliance with 1435 track gauge standard, American style Janney coupler is used.

Box car (model 11-1262) load capacity is 64 tons, tare weight - 26 tons, body capacity - 117 cubic meters. Flat car for transportation of large-tonnage containers (model 13-1261) is characterized by 66.8 tons load capacity, 23.2 tons tare weight and 1-T loading gauge according to GOST 9238-83.

The rolling stock manufacturer RM Rail Ruzchimmash has experience of cooperation with Cuba since 2010.
