RM Rail has certified new higher capacity rail car model for transportation of ammonia

RM Rail has certified a new model of tank car for transportation of ammonia with increased barrel capacity (model 15-1288- 02).

RM Rail has brought into market a new tank car for transportation of ammonia with barrel capacity increased up to 87 cubic meters. The tank car is able to carry 17 percent higher loads than similar models. The tank capacity is the highest for 1-Т loading gauge.

The new tank car was designed in RM Rail proprietary engineering center and manufactured by Ruzchimmash.

Production of new tank cars uses high-strength steel which provides barrel wall thickness reduction and superstructure diameter extension up to 3200 mm, keeping compliance with all rail car stability requirements.

Reinforced safety arches ensure secure protection for the tank car valve chamber. Bolted connection of the arches reduces labor intensity of repair and components replacement. In case of an accident, protective shields eliminate the risk of damage for the tank superstructure.

Load capacity of the tank model is 56 tons, tare weight, min./max. is 36-38 tons, service life is 40 years.
