President of RM Rail Holding talks with the head of Khakassia Valentin Konovalov over Abakanvagonmash development prospects

President of RM Rail Holding Konstantin Danilov met with the head of Khakassia Valentin Konovalov. They discussed prospects for expanding Abakanvagomash capacities, creating new jobs, government support for initiatives and plans for advancing competitiveness. In the next two years, the enterprise intends to increase its production capacity 2.5 times, up to 7.5 thousand containers a year.

“To implement the project, not only modernization is required, but also measures of government support. Currently, supply of new containers from China is far-forth higher than container production volumes in Russia. This is due to the fact that imported products are 15-20% cheaper than domestic ones. The regulatory authority involvement would help to offset the price difference and provide for a balance in the Russian container manufacturing market,” said Konstantin Danilov, President of RM Rail Holding.

The head of Khakassia underlined that the required government support will be provided to the enterprise. “This includes, among other things, entering the enterprise in the list of regional investment project stakeholders, which implies tax relief on income and property tax. We will also do our best to ensure that the enterprise receives federal support. An opportunity is in place. We are more than anyone interested in Abakanvagonmash becoming famous all over the country,” said Valentin Konovalov.

In the past 2 months, the enterprise has hired about 70 people. As a result, the total number of jobs increased to 450. There was also a substantial increase in employees’ wages.

The working meeting was also attended by Viktor Bogushevich, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the region, and Vasily Miroshin, Abakanvagonmash General Director.
